BYU definitely has issues in the red zone. But, they're not completely unmanageable, and the last two weeks were always going to be a challenge in that regard.
Utah and Kansas have the two best red zone defenses in the conference, and easily two of the best in the country.
Kansas is #8 in the country in red zone touchdown defense. They've allowed TDs on 44% of opponents' RZ possessions. Utah is #15 in the country in that category at 48%.
BYU's overall red zone scoring rate is quite good. We're #32 in the country at 89%. But, our TD rate is a significant weakness. We only score TDs on 55% of possessions, which is 99th in the country and 13th in the Big 12.
Things should be easier this week. Arizona State allows red zone TDs 68% of the time, which is 107th nationally and 15th in the conference.
