It is the newest holiday, but it taps into a great tradition and celebrates a genuinely great moment in American / Texas history. I think it's a good place for a holiday, right between Memorial Day and Independence Day. Plus, it has the best name for remembering what day it falls on (unless you call Independence Day "the 4th of July", in which case that is the clearest).
