Look, it's simple. Running an option to the short side is inexcusable.

It is never, never, never a good idea to run option to the short side of the field. Especially not when you are down late in the fourth quarter and the clock is running.

Except, of course...

We have ran It to the short side multiple times this season in crucial situations. The most recent example being this play that put us in field goal position last week to win the game. I’m sure everyone loved the play call then.
