The fade pass call would tell me he isn't afraid... although that's probably something that Retzlaff called...
However it looked planned. It just feels like he has a lack of awareness of the game and the situation at hand. Take for instance the play where Kingston got the ball and it looked like he had potentially stepped out of bounds but the ref gave us the first down. Why in the heck did ARod not have the team line up and run a play instantly to avoid a review and overturn of that call? That was just stupid coaching... lack of awareness.

And then it was obvious that the coaches knew they had screwed up at the end of the half... so we are faced with a slightly different but similar situation and instead of trying to just punch the ball into the endzone... we run on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down, the 3rd down call appears to have been Retzlaff but who knows what was called really, he might have just flipped where the play was going... none of this made a lick of sense. We were not a position to try to chew clock there... we had to score period the end... and oh yeah, the defense had been playing really well and it was worth scoring early and have the defense hold.

The slow down offense where we don't snap the ball until very late in the play clock was weird and made no sense. Kalani and ARod clearly were afraid of something that Kansas had, and didn't trust the defense enough to hold Kansas's offense in check. Yet outside of the 1st drive of the game, the defense was holding them in check and we still ran with the unaggressive style of offense. Just a complete lack of awareness from the coaches. To me it feels like ARod gets too buried in his computer and is using analytics for everything. It's like watching the CPU play against the CPU on an xbox game... ARod's lack of awareness tells me he wasn't involved mentally in the game.
