Don't count on a bye in the first round of the CFP too soon.
BYU is currently behind a G5 champion-to-be in Boise in the AP poll. Unless the CFP committee feels differently, BYU will have to leap-frog Boise to take the last round 1 bye. BYU would obviously get a home CFP game in round 1 as a conference champion, but...it's Utah and ... it'll be December.
