…essentially a slightly better but inconsistent offense and QB. I think Jake is very good on some deep routes and runs, but makes absolutely horrible throws and decisions at other times. Outside of the two minute drill vs a prevent D, it’s not really consistent he’s going to hit his open man. We’ve been saying it all year: he fails to see the field. It could be from a lot of factors, but definitely he’s not a top tier guy. He’s done well overall, but he’s also so inconsistent he’ll play to a worse team’s level. Last night was inexcusable.
That doesn’t take away a 9-1 record in a P4 conference and awesome win at your rival’s place. It doesn’t take away a few dominating wins. But a fan can recognize we have a TON to work on offensively. ARod is not a great OC and has always been mediocre at play calls and game management. It’s the exception that he calls a great game. He’s stubbornly ineffective with jet sweeps and options to short sides. He never game plans vs opponents’ weaknesses.
