We were a bad football team last year and came into the season unranked, so naturally everyone is just waiting for us to trip up and be the team they thought we were in August. The only answer is just to keep winning.

Next season we likely start ranked and start getting the benefit of the doubt as we stack good seasons on one another.

Fortunately all we need to do is keep winning. The beauty pageant “respect” we’ve spent forty years getting spun up about doesn’t matter if we keep winning, which is the first time in program history we’ve been able to say that.
