A narrative to exist it away. Or to state why a non blue blood program isn't deserving.

Teams win close games, national championship teams win close games to lesser programs. Look to Clemson in 2016. They had 6 close losses. It just happens. I don't but into that narrative.

This is just the media of the sports world pushing their own narratives
