and BYU kicked them around like a little brother year after year. Then, things changed, of course. But, Utah was not a good football team back then, and their fans were pretty frustrated with 10 yrs of ineptitude, where we often blew them out like the rest of the MWC. Probably the most fun years of the rivalry, IMO, were the Lavell vs McBride years. There was still lots of great competition back and forth, even fierce competition and loyalties, but they would still joke about it, like the doink game, and the 34-31 years. It's taken on more animosity since KW took over, IMO.
