I was in the same ward with him for years. He’s definitely an active member.
One time I was helping the deacons pass the sacrament (I was the deacon quorum advisor). He was wrangling one of his kids while passing the tray along and without looking up said to me “Hey bud, can you help me with this…” then he looked up and saw that it wasn’t a deacon, it was a 40-year-old man. 🙂
