my uneducated guess is simply bad luck? After the injuries last year they changed their practices and processes to lessen soft tissue injuries. I've seen former players comment on Twitter / X that they don't think the strength and conditioning team is an issue, for what it's worth. So it's hard to say when 99.9% of us have no insider info or access.
It's a great season for BYU though - crushing expectations and undefeated, while your rival is eating portion after portion of humble pie. Ute fans are at eat others' throats and eating their own. Calls for firings, etc. It's been nuts.
