There was a couple years where boot camps had a high placement rate, but those
days are long gone.

Even if you’re able to secure a job, most boot camp employees plateau as junior engineers/analysts because their depth of knowledge is too surface level to solve complex problems and thrive in ambiguity. The few that are successful are the ones dedicating substantial time outside of work to continue learning throughout their career and I would argue those types will be successful regardless of whether they go to college, a boot camp, or something else.

I’d be stunned if job placement within 6 months isn’t in single digit percentages for boot campers given the state of the labor market for tech.

AI is making it even harder for boot campers as most teams are shedding their lowest performers since higher performers are able to do more empowered by AI and this trend can only go in one direction.
