That's definitely part of it, but it's also inflated egos.
think about it: the AD storms the field, rips an official on the field DURING A LIVE PLAY, and THEN marches over to the post game show, takes it over, and voices his displeasure with the Big 12, as if THAT would shock and awe everyone into submission.
It takes massive stones, and COMPLETE lack of self awareness, to pull a stunt like that. lol
