Ran into a Ute fan and his wife at my son's baseball game last night.
He was wearing a Utah hat and his wife a red Ute sweatshirt. I was clad in my royal blue BYU sweatshirt. I saw him approaching and thought to myself, "Oh great, I get to talk with an angry Ute." Living in Las Vegas, I don't see many Ute fans. I braced for the interaction.

His opening line was, "Man, you guys are having a great season." Nothing about the game. Nothing about the penalty. I'm sure he has strong emotions about the game, and the season. He and his wife were both wearing Ute gear proudly. But he didn't even bring it up.

I complimented their tough defense. We talked a bit about the Ute injuries and exchanged some pleasantries. He was a super nice guy and I enjoyed talking to him.

I was hoping for a better story to be able to relate on here.
