With that said BYU could have done everything right and it wouldn't have made a difference, they were Utah bound. Fine... whatever. But the fact that they made up a story about something that happened at a game, they called up Kalani and asked for tickets to the game and Kalani got them all tickets, greatly exaggerated an incident and then turned around an hour later and contacted Whittingham for tickets to the Utah game... that's grifting... period!
By the time of those games, it was pretty well know that the younger Fano was committing to BYU, they just wanted tickets to a big BYU game that day... and then turned around wanted tickets to the other big game being played at Utah. It was also well known that the older Fano on BYU's team was looking to leave and play with his brother... fine. But again, they massively exaggerated something that happened in order to create an excuse to leave... and that is where my problem with them began. And it's their word against about 20 people who saw were there and saw what happened and NOBODY can collaborate their story.
On top of that, it made Kalani look like a fool trying to apologize and clean up for something that wasn't there, to the Fano family. You bash what BYU was, for having issues, fine... We all were very well aware of the issues and they have been corrected. But let's not ignore the issues of the Fano's as well... they don't get off in this either. If you're willing to call a spade a spade... call it the other way also.
