While I believe that to be correct for the former PAC bowls in general I am not
sure that is accurate for the Rose bowl. Do you have a link verifying that.

Here is why I do not think that is completely true.

The Rose was the PAC vs the B1G...the B1G still exists while the PAC does not. So where does the B1G champ go. Remember that it is only 1 side of the game that is pre-determined by the 1-4 seeds. The other side is not a guaranteed match up of a B1G/former PAC game.

I believe that Oregon, Wash, USC & UCLA also take precedence on the PAC former bowl line ups outside of the NY6 games/CFP as well.

So who goes to the Rose Bowl if Colorado and Oregon are conference champs and seeded somewhere between 1-4? Certainly not both of them.

And if they are saying now that the B1G is taking ownership of something other than the Rose then what bowl is that going to be?

The Orange & Cotton are the semi-finals so that leaves Rose, Sugar, Fiesta and Peach bowls for this scenario.

Sugar has normally = SEC
Fiesta has normally = B12
Rose has normally = B1G/PAC
Peach came along later and was not tied to a conf champ of one of the big conferences in the past

But Orange has normally = ACC so because it is a semi-final game it makes most sense for the ACC to be tied to the Peach bowl this year.

And since PAC no longer exists it seems like the B1G would be tied to that game even it was not expected to be Oregon playing in it.
