Remember, the committees job is to get the best 12 teams including the 5 highest ranked champions. It is NOT the most deserving teams.

So this is not based on merit, it is based on who they judge to be the best and the current rankings repeatedly reflect that they think most 2-loss SEC schools are better than most 1-loss non B1G/SEC schools.

I agree that if we drop a close CCG there’s a chance we could remain in, but it’s a huge if. The one thing that is clear from both rankings is that the committee appears committed to getting 4 SEC & B1G teams in and that they’ll completely ignore merit to do so.
