He takes a much more "they are both wrong" approach to the game in his last broadcast. I agree 100% that it would be better if our players didn't taunt the crowd, but comparing upside down U signs with assault and battery, threats, temper tantrums on camera by administrators... and on and on.
This sums up the rivalry for the last 40 years for me. Utah can do anything from cruel to criminal, and it is just fine or maybe even deserved, but if one BYU fan drops an F-bomb then they are all hypocrites. It reminds me of all the anti-LDS arguments where one side can do no wrong, but the other has to be perfect since they are the "religious ones."
I guess I am just tired of the false-moral equivalency. Assaulting and injuring people is not the same as making an upside down U sign. Not even in the same ballpark. Not sure who got to Drake, but leaving the game he was pissed. Now he seems to think it's the rivalry that is toxic and both sides are to blame.
Or maybe it's just me.
