I've seen videos of people sanding down their cast iron pans to a mirror finish and then re-seasoning them
I'm not sure what the benefit is, if any, but I kind of want to try it just for fun

If you want to "reset" your cast iron you could put a steel disc brush on an angle grinder. After I cook with cast iron

Just sand it with 300 grit and then reseason. From then on clean it with chainma
