least so far as BYU is concerned. All the attention went to AJ on his official visit to Provo. Most of the available NIL dollars are going to AJ.
Even the fan response to JJ on social media has been muted compared to AJ. His posts didn’t seem to get the Jimmer treatment we gave to others.
People like to feel wanted and appreciated.
What’s interesting is JJ is rated the #6 PG nationally, and a top-50 recruit in his class. In any other season, he would be the absolute headline recruit of the decade maybe for our program.
There’s only a finite amount of focus you can devote to any one recruit. Each year, you identify your top candidates based on talent, character and culture fit. Then you give it your all with the resources you have, hoping at least 1-2 of them choose you back.
