music across the whole stadium into all the speakers and their speakers volume is turned way up. Their band specifically has a song they play all the time while they are defense that sounds like a train horn with all the instruments blaring it and the speakers in the stadium making it 100 times louder than it really is. It is really annoying and loud. Then after the band finishes playing right before they hike the ball, the mic stays on still and it then amplifies whatever crowd noise it picks up from the student section and band members just yelling. Super annoying as well.
RES is a difficult environment to play in, but IMO a lot of it is to due to how they have their sound system set up. I remember when I went to Notre Dame, they had a very loud sound system thorughout the stadium and they blared music in it throughout the game making it difficult for the opposing team as well. Meanwhile, LES only has speakers in the north endzone because from what I have heard neighbors have complained about the noise and I'm not even sure they still even have mics on the band (if they do, the speakers don't really pick them up hardly at all compared to somewhere like RES).
