Trevor Matich is right, on byusn he said not only was it a hold, but it saved a
Touchdown for BYU. He said Retzlaff was looking at him, and had the defender not held, the receiver would have broken free. Retzlaff was looking there, he would have hit the receiver for a first down easy.
Dang, watch the replay, that's all true. He's spot on.
This first video, the d-back and the safety are shaded inside. The receiver releases inside, juke's and goes outside.
He then gets held as he tries to go back outside, but the outside is wide open. I mean wide open.
Clear holding. Utah fans believing this game was stolen should be more concerned about not putting points on the board in 3/4 quarters. pic.twitter.com/ExmFDf7iYW
Now watch this replay. Jake is looking that way the entire time. He only gets sacked because the receiver gets held.
The hold against BYU had a significant impact on the play. If you watch the replay, you’ll see that the receiver who was held was Retzlaff’s first option. Although he didn’t have much time to throw, there was a realistic chance of a completion if not for the hold. #BYUatUtahpic.twitter.com/ExiYW4RwFj
This is crazy and changes my perspective on it. It was a legit call.
This is the best video I've seen of the holding call. This is definitely MORE than a typical hands battle off the line and the Ute defender was going to get beat. This was shot by my cousin who was at the game. pic.twitter.com/azmNB3L2fk
