was kind and never directly said Ben was wrong, but laid out a clear explanation of the idiocy of that argument. Ben showing both that he is clearly not a football expert and a Ute homer.
Jakes argument was basically, if there are rules, but you make your entire game plan playing in the gray to clearly out of bounds areas, you can't complain when you are caught cheating. Utah teaches their secondary to hold almost every receiver. It is how you can make their regular scheme of man coverage with heavy blitz work. You have to slow down the receivers to protect the secondary when your safety(ies) are blitzing. Is that hold often allowed? Yes. Did the receiver almost get pulled over, so it is very clear there was undeniably holding? Yes there was.
The argument that you don't make that call is more of a basketball argument. Basketball is officiated very differently middle of the game vs. end of the game. More contact regularly allowed at the end of the game than during the game. Lebron has said his best move is drive the basket, but he avoids driving to the basket at the end of close games, because fouls won't be called.
In the end Ben basically agreed that Jake had a great argument.
Love this, regularly shared on the hypocrisy of the Ute administration. Yes, Mark Harlan talked to the conference administration and the conference said, you're an idiot and it will cost you $40,000:
