They get that wrong, and now the program is really on the down trend, such that transitioning to a coach in waiting becomes a PR/recruiting problem - those are for successful coaches leaving a successful program - kind of a "keep the program going the direction it's going", it's not for a scenario where big change is needed. And then there is how Scalley would do as HC...rarely does the understudy live up to the legendary coach's stature.
