instead of getting what I wanted, I got something I didn't even know that I needed. Winning on the second to last play and then watching the complete meltdown by Ute Nation from top to bottom has been so, so much more satisfying.
When do you get the Utah AD walking on the field to draw a penalty on the Utah "bench" and then blabbing to the press about how unfair the officiating has been for Utah and how they wish they weren't in the B12 (confirming what we all knew since "give me a break")?
How about Whittingham, whose strategy against BYU for two decades was built on holding our receivers, complaining about that same call, throwing a chair, and also accusing a BYU player of tackling from behind to injure his best player when video shows it was actually a non-contact injury from planting on that abomination the Utes call field turf?
How about the fan hitting our Cheer coach with a heavy water bottle resulting in a police investigation and a likely arrest (sorry to our cheer coach there)?
As BYU fans, we've known about this type of crazy for years, but now it's on display for the whole nation to see and Utah fans are doubling down on their ridiculous takes. It was completely worth taking the hit for our team's analytics by playing Utah close to see them all exposed in this way. The nation and the B12 know exactly who little brother is, Utah is not going to get any love from a B12 official anytime soon, and BYU is still undefeated. Good times!
