Methusaleh22 Intervention Needed
Here's what Harlan's statement should have said:
Last night following a difficult loss, I mistakenly made comments to the media regarding officiating calls with which I didn't agree.

In hindsight, I recognize the particular call was a judgment call and can easily be construed to have been a correct one. I am sorry to the officials and the conference for any perceived or actual slander. I was caught up in the moment and allowed my emotion to cloud my judgment. I should have allowed more time to pass before making any comment on the game, if any.

I want to congratulate BYU on a well earned win. I'm grateful for our fans and organization and am sorry to have disappointed them with my actions.

Full stop.

Yes, it would have been received like any other apology - people would question his motivation, who actually wrote it, etc, but at least it would be an actual apology and sign of maturity.

The last 36 hours should be a total embarrassment for the guy. Could have easily reset it and chose not to.
