1. #21 on Utah Defense just destroyed us. On several series he was completely unblockable, throwing around anybody (especially the RBs) that tried to like rag dolls. It was embarrassing, and that blocking has to be fixed if we want to do anything outside the Big 12. I'm honestly surprised they didn't double their sacks.
2. We played Utah's game yesterday. Kudos for them for coming in and making us play the way they wanted us to - holding us to 3 instead of 7, keeping the ball for long drives, even if they didn't result in points, and playing field position. Utah knew that is how they were going to win the game. They don't have the offensive fire power to come from behind. Rose cannot throw downfield, and they could not have come from behind from more than 10 points. Utah did exactly what they schemed and planned to do, and we still came away with a W.
3. Going for it on 4th at midfield right before half was a very poor move. It likely would have been much better to have punted and let their offense try to go down the field again. This, combined with a horrific clock management before half were a pretty disastrous turn.
4. This team is awesome. They find ways to win the game. This has been a very fun year, probably the most enjoyable year of football I can remember since 2001 (the year my BYU fandom solidified). Despite playing right into Utah's game plan, we still found a way to win. Kudos to the coaching staff for doing a complete 180 this year.
We got lucky several times against Utah. I hope we make it to the B12 championship game and make a splash in the playoff, but there is a lot of work to do to get there.
