Leading up, it reminded me a lot of 2001 with the undefeated season on the line.
In some ways the Harlan stuff is like the 2007 (magic happens) and 2009 (I hate Utah) games in that the post game comments will almost become a bigger part of the lore than the game itself.
It also felt like this reversed the atrocities of 2010 game with the horrible ruling on Bradley’s non-fumble, and the game winning field goal not getting blocked this time.
It had a little 2012 in it with their fans thinking they won the game prematurely. It would have been amazing if their early field storming had lost them that game. Last night helps us get some payback for that. (Also makes up for a painful missed field goal.)
And in some ways this game was a reverse of 2017, where a scrappy underdog came out of nowhere with their hair on fire to take a first half lead, but couldn’t hang on.
So glad the guys pulled it off. We’ll be savoring this one for a long time.
