A couple things that are pretty clear after Utah’s first season in the Big 12
1. Utah benefitted from playing in the weakest division of the weakest P5 conference for the last decade. In that time, there was no team in the Pac 12 south who had any consistency. Most were changing coaches every few years and in a cycle of losing. Utah was the best of a group of mediocre teams.

2. Utah’s sign stealing over the last few years has clearly been a huge factor in their success. There were years we would play them where I would think to myself it looks like they know what play is coming most of the time. They would always seem to dial up the perfect blitz or sniff out a screen over and over. First year with in helmet communication and they are losing to everyone.

3. I really wonder how Utah fans will handle a downturn or some off years. If basketball is any indication, it will not be good. I wouldn’t be surprised to see their trash fan base get into their new hockey team or something else as their football team goes back to irrelevance. They don’t seem to be built to weather a tough spell. Most programs like them don’t.

4. It’s fun to watch everyone in the country find out what we’ve known about their fans and administration for all these years. Their entire organization is classless and everyone hates them.
