5150man All-American
I'm a 48 year old man (over 40! Mike Gundy!) and I've been a sports fan my whole life
I don't think there is anything in all of sports history like the schadenfreude that we, as a rival, are enjoying this season.
Our rival has stabbed us in the back at every turn. Reporting honor code infractions, preventing us from joining the WAC in basketball, big timing us in scheduling when they "didn't need us" to name a few.
They have dunked on us for 15 years due to conference affiliation.
For all this the pinnacle of their success was participating in, and losing, 2 meaningless bowl games that are so important that multiple players choose to sit it out to avoid injury.
They had their "most talented team ever" coming back as crowned by their head coach and local media.
In said season they are at risk of not making a bowl game.
Players are defecting and fighting in the locker room.
Their offensive coordinator quits.
Their rival is undefeated and playing to make the playoff, which actually means something now.
They just lost a game to their rival in the most heartbreaking of ways.
The 2 most visible adults in their athletic department, nay in their whole university, just made absolute fools of themselves on, at best, a controversial call. The calls that happen multiple times in every game. I said at best. Please show me 1 non-Utah fan that says that was a bad call. The paid propaganda arm of the University (the tribune) even says it was a good call.
I'll stop there since I fear my joy is carried away, even unto boasting.
