Yes. Verizon used to send you a free mini-tower to plug into your home internet.

You search for femtocell or picocell, and your carrier

Yes. It hooks up to your internet and essentially functions as a min cell tower. Each carrier has one they recommend.

That's because wifi calling has zero to do with texts. But you're right, if you don't have RCS available you're hosed.
