1 of them dies for certain. The other is somewhat ambiguous whether she dies at the end or not. Earlier in the film the one whose death is ambiguous says she would like to come back as a butterfly and land on her family/friends' fingertips so they know it's her. At the end of the film, a butterfly lands on her fingertips. Could it be her death? Her companion answering her prayer? God giving her peace? A butterfly?
