Tearing up the paper document doesn't mean that that old dude doesn't believe it. Now, if he starts sharing apostasy ideas, then we have a problem. The posting of political thoughts about a political candidate is actually funny. He looks to be near retirement anyway.
I have close friends that teach at BYU that do not have the same political leaning as a majority of BYU students and professors.
It is OK to have some diversity of thought on campus. The problems comes classes become about the professor's opinions more than the material that is supposed to be taught. Let students choose for themselves.
Note: Back in the day I used to read crazy stuff from friends about politics. Since I started on one size and steadily moved to the other, many of my friends had very different takes than I do now.
