You make some good points and I hear you. But I think you could argue that, as a leader of the team, Hall coming off
the bench is a good way for him to show leadership and set the tone for the rest of the team. That isn’t one of the reasons I would have him come off the bench though, so I want push that forward.

I’m not sure how young our team actually is.

Here’s my starting 5:
Demin - Freshman
Knell - Senior
Saunders - Junior
Catchings - Freshman
Keira - Junior

Then:
Boskovic - Unsure what he’s classified as, but he’s 22
Mag - Senior
Traore - Senior
Crawford - Freshman
Baker - Junior

It’s true that we have lots of new pieces, but they aren’t young, inexperienced pieces. If we were starting Demin, Crawford, Kozlowski, and Catchings, I would agree Dallin’s leadership is essential with the starting group. But we have seasoned pieces in my starting five and my bench five. I’m not saying Hall’s leadership isn’t important; I’m saying it isn’t necessary for him to be a starter because we have other seasoned upperclassmen there as well.

As far as Hall vs. Knell, again, this isn’t me arguing Knell>Hall. I’m saying that Knell’s skill set fits in better with the first group as a role player. I don’t think our second group has a guy who can step in and be the guy to run the show when Demin leaves the game. Looking at my second group, who would it be? There isn’t really a guy I trust there right now.

We have a huge luxury with two really, really good point guards. They both have the potential to be all-time greats at BYU. If we stagger them, we will have legitimately elite PG play for all 40 minutes. We are good enough that we can spread our talent out and let them be at their best when they’re in. Or we can primarily play them together, which makes the one without the ball less effective.
