I don’t think we need to go that far. If people want to wear them, feel free.
I do think we need to kill the cultural expectation within the church that they must be worn. It’s weird. They are an accessory. Like a necklace. And nobody looks down on people for not wearing a necklace to church. I quit wearing one a few years ago. I’ve been surprised by the number of guys in church who, in hushed tones, tell me they are jealous and wish they could stop wearing them. I remind them that they can. Culture is strong.
