SJ became our rebounder largely because down the stretch he proved more reliable than Waterman (whose numbers tapered off — perhaps cuz teams began gameplanning for someone to body-him-up.)

But neither guy were great options to have under the basket. Kudos to them for holding their own, but neither is hardly irreplaceable as rebounders.
