Football had the same no-play rule. On my mission to OK, I remember helping Norman Ward clean the football stadium after the OU home games and after their JV home games. OU JV game attendance was similar to Utah games now, except the concourses were cleaner.

Alcindor's UCLA Frosh team beat their Varsity team which won the NC.

That was one of the reasons that the no-play rule for Frosh was dropped.
