Nor are most other college players. Also, I'm going to have to disagree re: the athleticism comparison. Caruso has an absurd vertical jump (reports between 36 and 44 inches) and extremely impressive start-stop quickness. I don't think Richie's athleticism is anything to frown at but it's not on par with Caruso.
That said, Caruso's stats were not impressive over his college career. He was a 34% 3-point shooter who averaged 8 points per game in ~29 minutes per game. He has clearly developed and improved over time and has carved out a nice role in the NBA.
Austin Reaves is another interesting comparator. Same size as Richie, terrific motor, went undrafted after a couple years at Wichita St and a couple at Oklahoma. Improved tremendously each year at the college level but only shot ~30% from 3 during his time at OK but became a real impact player by the time he finished. Started on a two-way contract at the NBA level and worked his way up from there.
Can Richie do it? I think I'm with Kevin on that one. Will he do it? The odds are against it.
