First Half
Not surprisingly, a little rough to start on both ends. Kanon and Egor both taking some bad, contested, off-balance long-range shots, a little too amped up.

Love Kanon's length in man defensive matchups, getting blocks. Team D needs some work, help is slow and in the wrong place at times.

First subs are Mag for Saunders and Fouss for Keita. Interestingly, Mag is assigned to hound the opposing PG immediately rather than guarding a 3 or 4.

That first foul on Mag was trash.

Second subs are Saunders coming back in I guess for Catchings, Baker in for Knell and Crawford for Demin.

McCann saying BYU are 30pt favorites, but at the moment if things continue this way that seems difficult to imagine with how young we are and playing pretty poorly - again not unexpected in a first game with new coaches and 3 new starters. I'll be surprised if it's a 30pt win with the current standard of play. Hopefully it gets better.

This second unit really struggling to solve the zone.

Crawford with the bad contested 3pt shot, seems to be what the FR want to do tonight. Baker doesn't seem to know what to do with this lineup offensively. Hesitant and confused. Going to have to find a way to unlock him. It might be the zone causing most of the problem.

Well, Bosko makes an appearance halfway through first half. Eligibility questions answered for sure now.

Saunders has probably been the most consistent player in the first 10 minutes, but there have been some great moments from Knell, Catchings, and Demin.

Now, Demin comes in to try and decipher the zone. Keita finally making his presence known.

This is an interesting lineup: Demin, Saunders, Baker, Bosko, Keita. Very curious to see how this plays out.

Keita has to stop pushing on rebounds. He's too foul prone. At his experience level, he should know better by now.

The young ball handlers need to find a way to get the ball to Fouss inside. They aren't taking advantage of his post scoring ability in the slightest.

Wide open but missed shots off good passes costing Demin assists, come on boys!!

I know they want Demin to not be afraid to score for us, but taking leg-flailing threes early in the shot clock with a hand in your face isn't the answer. It's difficult to understand why young guys insist on doing that.

That move by Demin to create space and then lob to Catchings sneaking along the baseline was awesome!

CA getting lots of offensive rebounds off long missed shots. BYU perimeter guys are doing a horrible job marking up. Just being lazy out there, letting the CA guards/shooters rush in for those long boards. "Someone else will get the rebound, I don't have to try"

Demin's shot looks good. If he stopped taking boneheaded contested shots he'd be like 80% from the field.

Team is playing much better now, that 30 point win doesn't seem so crazy!
