Whitt was playing mind games with the media and kept saying Rising was a gametime decision last summer and fall (or something similar). Whitt decided that despite not having a healthy QB1 in camp that he would let QBs take shots in practice and Rose got hurt. Not sure if or when he got healthy last year, but Botari playing over him last year against Colorado and Northwestern, and what Whitt said then speaks volumes about where Rose is in the pecking order. Beat out last year by everyone healthy at the end of the season, beat out this year by a true Freshman.

One call out is that Whitt also had Charlie Brewer starting over Rising at one point 2021, and now has a new and inexperienced OC.

If Rose starts, I think we will be OK. If Wilson starts, which he should, we should still be OK.
