I mean, sure, it mostly doesn't kill people- but why have it at all?
Car accidents are at a higher rate, there are major losses of productivity- it's just a bad idea.
The only reason I see for keeping it is inertia. The fact that it is largely a minor inconvenience doesn't change the fact that it is a needless problem.
