No way they are as good as last year.
Center back spot was struggling in particular. I don't know that my suggestion led to this, but i did mention to someone that they could switch Summers to D. She was not doing anything on offense. Next week, they brought Summers over due to those defensive issues and they even tried Rustand in the middle before that. Summers has been serviceable at center and better than before, but only okay. They absolutely need another lock down defender in the middle. That is Stratton and that is what she played before.
Moreover, they don't need another forward. They have Walbruch coming back. Stratton isn't playing over Fryer, Walbruch, or Bailey so you're going to have Stratton sit behind them while you have an average center defender play where Stratton had already excelled? No way. Maybe if Walbruch doesn't come back or Fryer or Bailey get hurt. Otherwise, it would be crazy to not play Stratton at defender again.
I can tell you with certainty that at least one of BYU's coaches was assuming awhile back she would return to defense.
