Whittingham is a great coach, but what keeps him from being elite is he simply
doesn't trust offenses. There's a reason why Whittingham rotates through offensive coordinators like it's the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher position at Hogwarts. He would rather win a 13-10 defensive battle than a 35-32 offensive shootout.

I have no doubt Whittingham will throw in some wrinkles on defense and special teams, but he handcuffs offenses, especially when the QB is still young and inexperienced.
