schools from around the country to compete in an outdoor event in November, they should put it in a warm location

XC is not a comfort sport. Rain, snow, mud, sleet, heat, doesn't matter. Run.

Yes and no. Madison could be crazy cold and humid or it could be temperate. If it is cold and humid, good luck staying
