I think it is okay to some extent for players to want to “get theirs”
I think last year, pope got a lot out of the team, but I also got the impression that he didn’t give players freedom to play and feel confident. I am thinking about players like Richie. It often felt to me like pope wasn’t letting him play, or trusting him to play with confidence. There are exceptions. It felt like he allowed Jaxson to chuck up any shot he felt like, for example.
I think popes system had a lot of success, so props to him for that, but now with so much talent, it makes sense to let the players be confident in their game and play to their strengths.

I think KY, coming from the NBA coaching superstars, knows how to give players freedom and confidence. Obviously there needs to be balance, a system that allows them all to work in cohesion, and I hope we see that cohesion form more over the next handful of games.
