BYU was > PAC12 for the last few years
Because the PAC12 was terrible the last few years. But that is only true the last few years.
The PAC12 had been declining for a long time mostly because the west coast states HS football is declining. It reached critical mass around 2019 and NIL sealed the deal.
Most those schools do not generate anywhere near enough interest to compete with power schools in the NIL era.
