One huge difference this year from other Utah teams
Mobile quarterback.

Seems like every other Utah QB has always been very mobile. That always complemented their run game well and kept our pass rush honest. Even Barnes was able to scramble very well when it was needed.

This season is different.

I’ve seen decently mobile QBs but nothing to scare us about a QB scramble.

I’ve been trying to think of what Utah will do this season because whatever their offense does, it will be a custom approach just for this game. Possibilities:

1. Lots of RPO. Try to duplicate Ok St vs us. We will see if that will work, they have a very good RB who we will have to focus on, but I don’t believe they have a mobile QB that can make the threat real. Our DEs will have to be more disciplined than vs OSU. I think this will be their most likely approach based on past success against us.

2. The 2005 approach where the did a max protect and sent everyone on deep routes then ran the QB on draws. It was very effective. Especially in the first half.

3. Keep doing what they are now. I doubt they make our prep that easy.

Whatever Utah does, it will be run-heavy to try to set up the TE QBs play action

What does everyone else predict the Utes will do this year?
