We finally got to see a game where LJ Martin had 20 carries for the first time this season. Coming into the season LJ was assumed to be the focal point of the offense with Jake making plays as a secondary option. It took a bit on Friday night, but once ARod decided to run the ball OSU had no chance. Not only did LJ go for 6 YPC, but on every play action fake the WRs were running wide open. If you go back and watch the Keelan Marion TD catch, Jake gave a pretty pedestrian play action fake but because of the success LJ was having it sucked up 3 LBs & a Safety so Keelan had nothing but space to work with downfield. And the job this OL is doing both in pass pro and run blocking is absolutely huge. If LJ stays healthy the rest of the year, this offense could be really special come late November and hopefully into December.
