Potential for 2 more Big 12 teams becoming bowl eligible this weekend
Texas Tech (5-2) plays at TCU (4-3)
Cincinnati (5-2) plays at Colorado (5-2)

If Texas Tech wins we get our fourth and fifth bowl teams eligible after 8 games. If the Red Raiders lose to TCU, they have some tough games remaining at ISU, at OSU, and home against Colorado and West Virginia. Hopefully, there is at least one win in there if they lose to TCU on Saturday.

Other teams with decent paths to a bowl game include:

Loser of this week's Cincinnati/Colorado game. Colorado still has games at home against Utah and OSU and road games at TT and Kansas. At least two wins in there even if they lose to the Bearcats. Cincinnati has a tough road slate at ISU and K-State, but gets WVU and TCU at home. There is still at least one win in there even if they lose at Colorado on Saturday.

Arizona State (5-2) will be on the road at OSU, K-State, and Arizona with home games against UCF and our Cougars. Has to be one win to be found in there so long as it isn't on 11/23.

Baylor (3-4) has games at home against OSU, TCU and Kansas with road games at WVU and Houston. There are likely three wins in there at least for a team that is finally coming into its own.

Teams that will be in the 6-6 mix for minimum bowl eligibility:

Utah (4-3) — has the toughest row to hoe as they are on the road at Houston, Colorado, and UCF with home games against ISU and BYU. There might very well be only one win among those five games left on their schedule. What an epic collapse from preseason expectations.

Arizona (3-4) — hosts West Virginia, Houston, and Arizona State with road games at UCF and TCU. Whether TCU or they go bowling likely comes down to the winner of their game on 11/23.

TCU (4-3) — has the aforementioned TT game this weekend. Following that, they have home games against OSU and AZ with road trips to Baylor and Cincinnati. Needs to hold serve on those home games for the two wins they need.

UCF (3-4) — hosting BYU, AZ, and Utah with road games at ASU and WVU. Would have to take AZ/Utah/WVU to have a shot if they lose to BYU this weekend. Really need to show up against Florida.

West Virginia (3-4) — really hurt themselves going against the Pennsylvania schools in their OOC matchups. They have 11 P4 opponents as a result and going 1-2 OOC means they have to climb out of a hole with road games at AZ, Cincinnati and Texas Tech. Their remaining home opponents are Baylor and UCF.

Oklahoma State (3-4) — if they righted their season by how close they played us, how big is that Arkansas win for their bowl hopes? They will have to upset three teams among Baylor, TCU, and Colorado on the road and ASU and TT at home.

Teams that are essentially out of bowl scenarios already:

Kansas (2-5) — their next for games are @K-State, home vs Iowa State, @BYU, home vs Colorado, and @Baylor. 2-10 anyone?

Houston (2-5) — the Coogs are the team that probably had no business being invited to the Big 12 (football wise). Would trade them for Washington State in a hot second. Still welcome Utah, K-State, and Baylor to Houston while traveling to AZ and BYU. At least four losses there (hopefully to end their season after they beat Utah this Saturday)
