have to do with high school eligibility, and are different from state to state. In my state a HS player can't receive NLI money until they have signed a binding obligation (NLI) to a college. Every state has a slightly different rule.
In AJ's case, he plays for Utah Prep, and Utah Prep is not a UHSAA school. Whatever rules Utah has about high schoolers taking NIL money doesn't apply to him. They can't take away his high school eligibility.
Basically he can take any NIL deal that comes his way now. That's not the case for most high school players.
